Adrian Monge
Director of Programs
Adrian Monge has been committed to improving the quality of life for children and families in Detroit for more than a decade as a teacher, instructional coach, school leader, nonprofit executive, government appointee, and consultant. Adrian started her career as an early childhood teacher in the state run public turnaround district, the Education Achievement Authority, during its first year in operation. She has served as a teacher, instructional coach, and principal in both public and public charter schools primarily in start-up and turn around environments. After almost a decade working in schools, Adrian pursued opportunities to expand her impact in the education landscape on a systems level by first serving as the Senior Managing Director of Educator Leadership and Program for Teach for America, serving over 100 teachers and leaders reaching over 7,000 Detroit students. And then through serving as the Director of the Office of Early Learning in the city of Detroit’s mayor’s office working to ensure equitable access to high quality child care and PreK for Detroit’s 50,000 children ages 0-5. Adrian’s commitment to raising the bar for Detroiters and proving that our kids and communities are capable of more than we ever thought possible, have been critical to her success and impact as an educator and leader.
